Congratulations to Sgt. Kasel!

New Baltimore Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company would like to send a shout out to Sergeant Kristen Kasel. Kristen recently completed all the required training and passed the Paramedic National Registry Exam. We are extremely proud of her accomplishments and look forward to her completing all the requirements to become a Released Paramedic through Fauquier County.
Here’s a little more about Kristen in her own words:
What made you decide to volunteer with Company 10?
When I moved to New Baltimore, I was looking for a way to give back to the community. I discovered the New Baltimore Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company, which went hand in hand with my passion for the medical field. Volunteering there has allowed me to gain valuable experience. Since starting at Company 10, my passion for EMS has grown, and given me the motivation to pursue my Paramedic certification.
What is your most memorable moment as a volunteer at Company 10?
Some of my most memorable moments volunteering at New Baltimore Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company are sitting around the dinner table surrounded by all of my friends and enjoying a meal. The close relationships I have developed with everyone at New Baltimore are very meaningful to me.
What advice would you give someone thinking about becoming a volunteer firefighter / EMT?
That joining New Baltimore Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company is one of the best decisions I have made. If you are considering volunteering, I recommend you come check us out. The people you will volunteer with are an amazing group of people.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years, I see myself volunteering as a paramedic in the area as well as becoming a firefighter.
