On 3/8/07 at 12:05 hrs, units were alerted for a house fire at 5078 Broad Run Church Road. On arrival, crews found a single story rambler (with a basement)with fire showing from the attached garage (sides Adam & Baker). After the walk around, crews found two vehicles fully involved in the garage. Engine 10 crew advanced an 1 3/4'' handline for the initial attack. Tanker 10 arrived shortly after to set up water supply. After the arrival of Wagon 1 and Rescue 1, a second handline was advanced and all three crews joined together for an aggressive fire attack and primary search of the house. Wagon 4 and Medic 1 crews handled cutting the ventilation hole on the roof. The fire was contained to the garage, with minor extension and moderate smoke damage to the living area. Crews then performed extensive salvage and overhaul operations. All occupants of the house exited prior to the arrival of fire and EMS. No occupants or firefighters were injured during this incident. Chief Keefer was the incident commander. Engine 10 cleared at 14:55 hrs.
