On almost every response we use house numbers to get to the correct location. You can make our job easier by following some simple house numbering rules:
Place numbers by the road so that they are illuminated by the headlights of approaching vehicles. Numbers placed facing toward the road can be hard to read at night.
Install two number signs so that they can be seen by vehicles arriving from either direction. We may be responding from somewhere other than our station.
If your house is on a private road or shared driveway you should place numbers near to your house even if your mailbox is on the main road. This sign, too, should be placed so that it is illuminated by oncoming headlights.
